Pastor Kristen (Kris) Capel grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Wartburg College in 1995. She graduated from Wartburg Seminary in 2001 and was ordained in 2002. Pastor Capel, married with two daughters, was installed as "Lead Pastor" of Easter Lutheran Church on September 18, 2011. She replaces retired Pastor Jim Borgschatz who started the church, a two-site ministry with 4,785 baptized members, 6 worship services and multiple worship styles, by knocking on doors 38 years ago. I hope that her ministry is as outstanding as she appears to me...quite a lovely looking woman. But I guess that's not an important part of her role! May she enjoy much success with her parishoners.

It's about time the Catholic church contemplates having female ministers. Shutting the doors on people like her is both stupid and insulting. The world needs more people like her !
