"Wood" is the theme for the February 1 City Daily Photo blog community's
theme day! A lot of
WOOD is used in building this new house. I can't help but think of the "3 little pigs" story where one pig built his house of sticks, one pig used
wood and one pig made a house of bricks. I just hope a big bad wolf doesn't come and huff and puff and blow down this
WOOD house!

No danger of blowing down that structure because it looks pretty sturdy. Have a happy week, Leif. Watch for my new vacation blog in Santa Fe in about a week.
That is a good "Wood" photo, and a good start for the new home.
Will you show us the final result??
:) I hope the big bad wolf keeps to his side of the woods :) Nice theme photo.
I am not sure whether my comment got recorded.
I wrote that this was a perfect pic for theme day and I like your funny comment. Have a great week.
I'll try to remember to show you this house when it's all finished - probably in May I guess!
What is with your THEM day stuff? Is it some Scandihoovian truncation of the language?
Yes, there is a lot of wood here. Typical Minneesota house. We try to avoid wood houses here, 'cause hurricanes tend to blow them into the ocean (on the other side of the state!)...
When you told me to check on your THEM day post, I figured surely you'd have a close-up of your head!
Have a great week and try to find something for Allison to do. Other than eat donuts!
Très bonne idée pour le thème du mois. Cela redevient a la mode, les maisons en bois, le retour de l'ecologie
New home construction? In this economy? Things are looking up.
I love to see the skeletons of wood houses. Here in Jerusalem everything is stone.
Oh my goodness! this really is sock-it-to-me wood. Love it. So much wood here. What would we do without wood? A perfect posting for today.
now there are a lot of sticks in that photo. good choice of wood in action
Wow... so much of wood for that house! I do rue for the number of trees being cut to build that house :(
«Louis» will behave for a change today, given that Jacob has been such a bad boy already...
Hey! A new house being built!! That's nice to see even if it wasn't theme day. Haven't seen that going on around here lately. Nice choice.
Glad to see they are building new houses somewhere!
Hey, I always worry about the wolf myself when I see the timber structure of a new house! they build them the same way in NZ as well. Cheers!
I like wooden homes. I wonder what this one will look like once it's finished.
Funny to see that so much unorganized wood can be organized to a home...
I suppose it's too cold for hurricanes in your part of the...woods!
The bones of a house are so intriguing. And this house has particularly interesting bones. Please do swing back in the spring to show us the finished project...the final transformation will come when the house becomes a home and has a family inside it.
Perfect take on the "wood" theme. With or without big bad wolves!
Three Rivers Daily Photo
To destroy such a large wooden house would require thousands of wolves blowing all at once !!!!!
Your neighbors must be very happy to get out on my blog:)
Good photos
Looks quite sturdy, I'm sure the piggy will be fine ;D
With your origins you should know that wooden houses can be very solid! :-)
Looks like a BIG house. We have a lot of monster homes around Toronto and I wonder what people do with all that space....especially no one is home all day and the owners spend the weekends at the cottage.
Guess that the "atmosphere" inside will be a wonderful one, being surrounded by so much a living thing as wood.
Over here in Athens, mostly, well everything is made out of concrete. What a joy to see. Please have you all a wonderful Tuesday.
We all know the 3 little pigs duh dad.
Nice choice for the theme day.
the wolf will run out of breath blowing that down! :-)
we don't use wood for structures in Singapore anymore. it's all concrete nowadays.
I hope nothing or no one blows it down either, especially since my daughter and son-in-law are building a house now!
Promise us you'll take a picture of this house when it's done? Please? I love wood houses!
I'll huff and I'll puff...
These kind of prefab skeleton structured wooden houses seems to be quite in in the USA. Is it because they are cheap or just quick and easy to construct?
This truly is a great entry on the theme!
By the way, I'm sure you'll get your statue in front of the City Hall someday! Very funny, Leif! :-)))
Wooden houses are healthier. Please do have a very robust architecture. Wooden houses are precious. Thank you for this beautiful photo my friend. Good work. Most sincerely yours sincerely.
That is a LOVELY wood house! How long does it take to construct one?
