Backyard visitor

My daughter saw this snapper turtle walking through our backyard during lunch one day. I sprang across the grass to capture him with my camera lens for my blog.

Am I correct in thinking that these can be quite dangerous? Only if you tickle it under its chin I suppose...

Where was it headed?

You "sprang"? Heh. Heh. Reminds me of the turtle and the hare. Are you the guy the turtle looked at and asked, "What hair, er...hare?"

Butler, the ever knowledgeable fauna expert, would like to correct you and say that the turtle is not a snapper, rather a northern painted turtle. He's just sayin'.
