On Wednesday, July 15, the Eagan Rotary Club bid farewell to our Rotary high school exchange student, Lea from Deutschland. She attended Eagan High School during this school year and was hosted by two families from our club. We wish you "Alles Gute und viel Gluck," Lea!

As a teacher I'm involved in exchange projects every two years and these experiences become the school memories my students will always remember. LEA was very lucky, indeed! Good blog, Leif! Actually full of ...life! I'll be back.
Must be great to be able to live and study abroad at that age.

The Rotary clubs are very big in Exchange students. We have had a few visit us while they were here (2 of them in Minnesota)

How wonderful! Exchanges here are often between Ontario and Quebec - almost like going to a different country. ;-) A few years ago we hosted a lovely girl and after that my daughter was lucky enough to spend time in Quebec.

I had a cousin who went on exchange through Rotary (he stayed in Wisconsin, and my aunt's family got a girl from MN who practically became one of the family quickly)... I really hope she has good memories and keeps in contact with all of you.

Do you knit, wow, I don't know any male knitters :-)It is so fun to see foreign bloggers post photos from their town, I do think there was a lot of Norwegians that setteled in Minnesota many many years ago. Eagan looks like a great place. You have a nice sommer, hope it is filled with sun!

What a nice send-off! I think that exchange programs are vital for our youth so that they, perhaps, will have a better understanding of the cultures of the world. I love these kids because they add so much richness to a school and community. Some of our best experiences was hosting young adults from other countries.
