Eagan Rotarian series #25

John Tapper's father and a few other men founded Gopher Resource back in 1946. John has worked there since 1979 and now leads the company as their Chief Operating Officer. With 240 employees in Eagan and 200 workers in their Tampa, Florida plant, they are a major recycling organization. In Eagan, they recycle 50,000 car batteries and many other things every day! Irving Kutoff, a 92 year old founder, stopped by as we were talking.

That's a lot of car batteries Leif, what do they recycle them into?

Fantastic!
«Louis» always applauds your Rotarian series. Rotary and its members do so much good in so many ways. This family business, aside from its connection to Rotary, is but one example of how family-owned businesses are the unrecognized backbone of the U.S. economy.

Nice pictures of John & Irving who looks in amazing good health & spirits for his 92 years. And John is doing a great job at recycling car batteries and thus saving the environment to the extent possible. Congratulations to Eagan Rotarians.
