Shopping for food for our family of 5 at
Byerly's grocery store cost us
$201.15. The 56 items included several sale items which saved us
$14.21. Would this be more or less
expensive in your local food store?
Some of our items: beef, chicken, pork, 3 gallons of milk, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, corn on the cob, carrots, yogurt, pasta, cheeses, butter, grapes, bread, hotdog buns, etc.

Definitely less for similar local items here.
I want those Snyder's pretzels....
Ja, es kann sehr teuer werden, frische und einheimische Waren zu kaufen. Bei uns sind im Moment Windeln noch das teuerste Produkt ;)
Too depressing. Can't spend too much time thinking about this. What time is the game on? hahahaha
The prices here in Santa Fe would be much higher, but I buy all veggies, esp chilis at the wonderful farmer's market which is decidedly higher than St. Paul's. Prices would be exactly the same if I were shopping at home at either Byerly's or Lunds. Cost of living here in SF is much higher than our Midwest city!
It seems a little high. I think it would be a little less here at my local Publix, but not by much!
Hard for me to say since we only shop for two and then again everything is way more expensive here anyway that it probably would be more.
Whoa! Not sure how it would compare to groceries here...but the price of veggies are getting higher recently.
I don't do the food shopping, fortunately.
Honestly I have no idea, Leif. I have only started paying attention at food prices now because austerity measures keep on being announced almost on a daily basis and at, the same time, everything is much more expensive. Whether you like it or not, your life in this country will probably not be the same anymore. It's scary!
That's a lot! I always buy biological food, it's better and more expensive. But cheap compare to your grocery.
Should have gone to Ralph's Pretty Good Grocery in Lake Wobegon ;-)

Lots more expensive in Australia. Our Duopoly, Woolworths & Coles, have got us and the primary producers snookered.
If that's shopping for a week Leif, I'd be happy with that, I'm lucky if I get away with $250 -300 per week for three people!!
