Terrorists attacked the
United States on
9/11, a horrific day which nobody will forget. The
Truck Crane Service Company on Highway 55 and Dodd Road has set up three of their cranes, two huge
flags and a photo of a
firefighter hero to remember and honor the almost
3,000 victims of that event. Safety officers, veterans, military and many others have visited this moving site every year in
Eagan. I was working in my Roseville office and had just finished a client meeting on
9/11. Where were you on that day?

We will remember then and never forget the bravery of so many.
It was lunch time in Portugal, I had just gone back to work when I got the first phone call, it was my mother in tears asking me if I already knew what was happening.
It was evening here in Perth, I was reading but also had the tv on glanced up and thought I was watching a movie or something, changed the channel only to find it was on all stations and that it was unbelievably really happening, then stunned horror.
I watching the Today Show while I was getting ready for a doctor's appointment. At first I thought it was an accident, but then as they were interviewing someone on the ground in NY, the second plane hit and I knew we were being attacked. I was stunned.
In a library surrounded with friends and children.
No-one forgets that day. I had just started an American English literature class with a group of juniors at SPA. A student who shares a birthday with me and I were going to celebrate together during class with a small party. Before we could begin, the door flung open, a mother of one of the students breathlessly exclaimed, "Do you know what's happening?" For the rest of the day, classes continued, television sets were set up in the hall, and I had my classroom radio on for the remainder of the day. Students silently filed in, we listened together, and used each class period as a mini-study hall. We needed to remain calm and attempt a feeling of "normalcy" to help the students, and one another. All of us have personal memories seared into our brains.
We Will Never Forget ~ 09.11.2001, may God bless us as we heal from this American tragedy.
I was in college and could not believe the scene on the news that suddenly interrupted the regular programs. I don't think we will ever forget that day.
Is it really 10 years ago...I was at home on a day off as I was working shifts at the time and watched it all unfold on TV. Working in air traffic control as I do I often think about the controllers on that day, how they probably couldn't even believe what was occuring.
I was still in Germany. On that day I was outside to change a tire of my trailer on the Autobahn. I called my dispatch soon after when the tire was fixed. And he told me, what happend at exact this hour when I was outside...
God bless America - may we never forget !!!
Very nice tribute by them.
I was using my computer and got a news flash that an aircraft had struck one of the World Trade Center buildings in New York City. Assuming it was some sort of a terrible accident I turned on my TV set in time to see the second airplane strike. I just sat and watched in disbelief thinking that it must be a mistake, that it looked like a special effects movie.
god bless you!!!
I was in the office of a colleague when another colleague burst in with the news. I have always been struck by how such a horrible thing could happen on one of those absolutely perfect, blue sky, early fall days. It was not our mental image of a horrid day.
It was early afternoon here in Europe, so we were in the middle of a normal day when we saw the world changing...
At home of my future in-laws, as the day before i exchanged rings with me wife.
daily athens
We're having a birthday party of my son Joel. We were watching a show and all of the sudden, a breaking news was aired. All of us stopped partying and hubby lead a prayer.
We remember. God bless America!

call South Africa
My late husband and I were driving towards Cape Town when we heard of the first plane. Since I used to fly my first reaction was "isn't that air-space off-limits and what sort of pilot...?" and then came news of the second impact and I simply felt numb, and desolate, thinking of the day I had visited the towers, some years back. A South African friend had arrived in NY the previous day and was standing admiring the beautiful day - crisp, clear, sunny - such a beautiful day, he said, for such a horrible, barbaric action.
I was at work on 5th Avenue in the 20's. We could see the towers all the way down Fifth Ave. It was just smoke at first, and of course I thought it was just a minor accident.
Things unravelled not long afterwards. I remember my coworkers and bosses running around the office. I was very anxious because the office was near the Empire State Building. Eventually I walked north about 50 blocks, home.
Both the photo and your text are nice tributes. Ten years is both a long and short time, isn't it?
