Svea pa IKEA

Svea, in the black sweater, was back in the Twin Cities for a short visit before returning to China to teach in an orphanage. Lena, Stina, Magnus, Ingrid and I met Svea at IKEA for Swedish meatballs with lingonberries, lots of talking and silliness. We all worked and/or were campers at Concordia College's Swedish summer language village called "Sjolunden" (Lake in the Woods). IKEA is just 10 minutes north of Eagan - mycket roligt!

Looks like a great reunion! There is almost NOTHING in Santa Fe that I do not like, BUT there is no IKEA here...imagine that!!

Everyone should live that close to IKEA store.

What's this Language Village all about? Sounds fun.

A typical image of Ikea, I can see a price behind you. Is that a price? 229?

Looks like fun was had by all!
IKEA has a great concept. There is an IKEA about as close to Chez la Vache as in Eagan.

For 99¢ you can get a breakfast with scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and potatoes - it's hard to match that price with home cooking!

IKEA furnished much of Chez la Vache...

Sadly, I have to cross to Canada to get to my "local" IKEA. And then I get grilled by US Customs upon my re-entry to the States.

A nice bright happy photo - love all the bright florals on the wall.
What are lingonberries?
Cheers.

As a Swede I shoulp perhaps be a bit proud! It seems now that one kid of two in France is made on an IKEA bed!

Sweet Swedes...
My son went to the Concordia French camp. Lots of fun. I dropped him and his friends off, then the dogs and I went tent-camping for a week! Even more fun! I need an "I (heart) Minnesota" bumper sticker.

Ikea est partout,

Well, sadly, not in NZ (yet?). But it seems that wherever IKEA is, there are meatballs. A lovely shot of great conviviality!

Of course you met in order to eat! I knew that. You can keep IKEA, though. Junk store!

How nice to see that there are also adventures of IKEA over there, can't tell you how many i did live through over here and in Germany.
A wonderful Friday for you all.

There's an IKEA coming here, so they say; otherwise my closest one is in Budapest.

But we won't have a "Swedish Chef" to make meatballs.

Lots of people go to eat at Ikea in my city; it is located close to some business centers and there's little less around that would cost so little. Every time I go there around lunch time it looks like a stampede. I like the bright colors of the photo. If not for the title I think I still would have guess where is taking place.

IKEA came to Japan a couple of years ago. I love going there, it's like a furniture amusement park :D

I have been able to find lingonberry jam at the local Cub, along with the yummy Swedish flatbread. Not quite as good as what you can get at IKEA, but a tad more convenient. Do you get the jam locally - like I do - to hold you over, Leif, or do you hold out for the good stuff?

Looks fun, I have never been to an IKEA! Before I moved to this island I never cared, and now that I'd like to go, there is not one for many miles. Anyway, glad to have found your blog about Eagan, you do a great job showing it's charms.
