This Eastview High School kid was
roller skiing laps around our neighborhood last Sunday. I guess the curves and hills are good
nordic skiing training! I interrupted his workout long enough for a photo but he skied off before I could catch his name. Check out his cool
roller skis!

oh! that's a cool ride he got there...
i would love to try that sometime....
du ski en plein été ;o)
skiing in the summer ;o)
They are quite popular over here, the Nordic skiers use them for their summer training.
A great way to do off season training but I often wonder how they stop.
That's funny. What is more funny is the fact he seems to be holding the post with the Stop sign.
From a certain age French women don't smile any longer because smiling "enhances" the wrinkles" :-)))))
cool and funny looking skiis~
:)
I've never heard of this sport before! It looks like great exercise.
Never saw these before. It's amazing what Minnesotans will come up with to keep from going crazy during the hot summer - both days! But, not to worry, the snow will soon be on the ground and this guy will be way ahead of everybody else, skiing circles around those who stayed indoors playing on the computer ... not to mention any names!
Awesome skis....I wonder if this as as much fun as the real thing....
That is too funny-- I thought he was carrying the stop sign at first. That's one way to have the right-of-way!
Never seen this before either. Seems like an ingenious way to train during the summer.
Cool ride !! Nice shot..Unseen Rajasthan
That's a great way to stay in shape. Cool skis! The streets over here are too dangerous and the sidewalks too crumbled to do that kind of sport. No wonder I've never seen these in Buenos Aires.
Great photo! He's brave to be RS'ing in town. Most skiers do their RS'ing in parks (the Cities have a bunch of great parks for rollerskiing) or on quiet country roads. To respond to Ken's question - you stop by being careful! Some rollerskis come with brakes or other ways to slow down, but mostly you just use them carefully, so that you can slow down and stop when appropriate.
That dude is way cool, dowg! Great way to get about the town, maybe I should try this here.
That is a really good excercise. Sadly, the times I tried roller skating were not good experiences.
Darn Leif, I wanted to be the first to remark on him seemingly carrying the sign, but as usual I'm slow off the mark. Great photo - I'll try to be quicker next time!
Most appropriate to stop by that sign. Sports people are law abiding people.
We obviously see a lot of these, occasionally even in the inner city. I'm not much of a skier, wheels included or not.
Those are super cool! But I wouldn't want to try going up a hill in those things, hehe.
It looks a complicate way of moving around, but he seems quite happy and self-confident
Roller skis! I've never seen these before.
