Jim McDonald has served as a police officer in Eagan since 1988. In September 2006, he became our police chief for a police department which started back in 1965. Over 68 highly educated officers serve to protect our community; our crime rate in Eagan is lower than the Minnesota state average which is lower than the US average. The 2009 Eagan police department budget is $10,956,300. Over $225,000 in fines or forfeitures were collected in 2008.Jim posed with a replica of the original 1965 Ford police car. The car cost $2,900 at that time. A new police care now costs $38,000.

Nice looking police gentleman. Sounds like he's doing a good job as a leader of coppers. Can't do without 'em, usually. Sometimes, when they get out their little radar guns and hide in the bushes, though...
