I met Aref at Rotary's 100th international convention in Birmingham, England in June. He attended the Rotary Peace Symposium as a peace scholar.I encouraged him to start a daily photo blog from his city of Herat in western Afghanistan and he did! Please check out his blog:

I used to be in our Rotary club for many years and then stopped when I sold my business. I enjoyed it too and met many people but none so far away. I will go to his blog as soon as I leave this one.
