Our birthday princess

Our youngest daughter turned 6 years old on Tuesday. "Mom" and Britta baked the yellow cake; Britta decorated it. It's fun to wear a birthday crown from school.

Corny in Coates

The Minnesota harvest of corn is just around the corner. We passed this barn in Coates, a village of 163 people just south of Eagan, on our way home from Iowa. Click here to see other charming barns.

Back to the Middle Ages

A Medieval Fair of fighting knights, craft demonstrations and Renaissance musicians transported visitors several hundred years back in time. Caponi Art Park hosted the Sunday afternoon event.

Family farm fun

"Lone Oak Days" at Holz Farm offer loads of activities, demonstrations and rides for kids and entire families. Saturday and again on Sunday, September 25 from 11 am to 4 pm - head over to Holz Farm at 4665 Manor Drive! Lunch options available to purchase, 2 pm Eagan Women of Note performance and 3 pm pie eating contest.

A blue dream

This 1973 Pontiac Grande Ville convertible with white leather seats waits patiently for a buyer. It sits along Covington Lane with a $13,900 price tag in the window of the current owner whom I do not know.

Bad news, good news

Although their home off Wilderness Run Road is considered a complete loss after Wednesday evening's fire, the good news is that all family members escaped safely. The fire cause remains under investigation; thanks to a faulty door bell ringing repeatedly in absence of connected smoke detectors, this story had a happy end.

Thanksgiving birds

Seeing these 15 wild turkeys nervously walking along 117th St just off Cliff Road and Rich Valley Road was a real thrill on late Sunday afternoon!

Gobble, gobble!

Shooting for Scouting

Over 110 local hunters, sportsmen and this shooting team from Thomson Reuters gathered recently at the "Eagan Gun Club" for the 5th Annual Trap Shoot Fundraiser to benefit the Boy Scouts of America in our area. Over the past 5 years, 438 attendees have participated in raising $112,000. This year $33,190 was raised to support the 70,000 local Boy Scouts! Congratulations!

Welcome, Max from Sweden!

Tony and Tessa Ripley hosted a welcome dinner party at their house for this year's Eagan Rotary Club exchange student, Max from southern Sweden. We also celebrated his birthday! (Max has the kitchen light over his head)

Dustin finished it!

Construction of this $550,000 house built by Dustin Endres at 1811 Ellie Court began in May and finished last week. It's a beautiful 2,300 sq ft rambler home set on 0.4 acre just off Cliff Road. A beautiful car wash

Some of the Burnsville High School Blazettes were washing cars and this towing truck as their club fundraiser on an unusually warm, September Saturday afternoon on Cliff Road in Eagan. The 58 girls strong danceline performs at fall athletic events and competes during the winter season.
