On Saturday afternoon, we walked past our regular mailman who was taking a delivery break in his mail truck. Everyone deserves an occasional, little respite, eh?
The postal service seems to be in real trouble, and I'm afraid it might get worse. I love the advent of the electronic world, but it's raising havoc with the postal service. I have always apprciated our mail service, and since I am a strong supporter of personal letters (not just email!), I worry about the future of both the literary aspect and that of the very good postal service we've enjoyed for generations. And, of course, I'm concerned about the loss of jobs!
Our son-in-law in Colorado is a postman. We are learning new things about what is involved and how tough the job can be at times - especially in the mountains in the winter!
hee hee This reminds «Louis» of the group of four or so mail trucks that would take a break at a nearby park. Walking by, you were well-advised not to breathe deeply as you would get high just from the secondary smoke from the (ahem) Mendocino Polio Weed they were smoking...

I hope e-mails and e-devices won't make (recycled) paper die.

Yes they do.
You know, I've always liked the eagle logo of the USPS. Probably because our university's mascot is a blue eagle. :)
Do post office still see as much "snail mail" now that we have email?
Congrats on your award, it is well deserved.
Cheers.

Like all the others, I'm a strong supporter of the mail service too.
He was probably going through his junk mail, ha, ha.
His mail truck looks so pretty!
