Although their home off Wilderness Run Road is considered a complete loss after Wednesday evening's fire, the good news is that all family members escaped safely. The fire cause remains under investigation; thanks to a faulty door bell ringing repeatedly in absence of connected smoke detectors, this story had a happy end.

Terrorists attacked the United States on 9/11, a horrific day which nobody will forget. The Truck Crane Service Company on Highway 55 and Dodd Road has set up three of their cranes, two huge flags and a photo of a firefighter hero to remember and honor the almost 3,000 victims of that event. Safety officers, veterans, military and many others have visited this moving site every year in Eagan. I was working in my Roseville office and had just finished a client meeting on 9/11. Where were you on that day?

Local blind painter and friend, Annie Young, came to our house to make beaded jewelry and eat dinner with us on Sunday. She painted these three flowers for our family representing three sisters and signifying the importance of sisters always "making amends" throughout their life. See her featured earlier on my blog, here.
Thank you, Annie!

Shopping for food for our family of 5 at Byerly's grocery store cost us $201.15. The 56 items included several sale items which saved us $14.21. Would this be more or less expensive in your local food store?
Some of our items: beef, chicken, pork, 3 gallons of milk, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, corn on the cob, carrots, yogurt, pasta, cheeses, butter, grapes, bread, hotdog buns, etc.
