Eagan Rotary Art Gala

On Saturday, February 6, almost 350 guests celebrated the 22nd annual Eagan Rotary Art Gala fundraiser. The guest list included several local politicians, 65 Rotarians from our club and a few other Rotary clubs, the Rotary District Governor Sandy Schley and our Rotary exchange student Terry from Taipei. This black-tie optional event filled the Eagan Community Center will 3 rooms of silent auction items, cash bars and hors d'oeuvres buffets, dinner and a live auction. Henning Jensen, originally from Denmark, was our featured artist with his oil painting prominently displayed. The Eagan Men's Chorus sang after dinner.

  1. Great collage, Leif. You must have had a great time . What (who) did they raise funds for (if I am not too curious :-))?

  2. The fundraiser brings in money for our many service projects, grants and scholarships for Eagan, the US and internationally! I'm crossing my fingers that we ended up with a BIG net profit!

  6. It looks like it was a FUN evening! I liked the collage, and I think I must have seen 2-3-4 of the people before, including the young student, who collects pins. The name of the artist sounded very Danish to me.... Henning Jensen.
( Anyone with the name Kroken?? )

  12. RE Gunn's question - No one by the name of Kroken was there, but Leif was completely kroken when they finally pulled him away from the wine...

  13. Fine collage of people and the art of Henning Jensen. Sorry, but I never heard of him. We have a famous actor in Denmark also called Henning Jensen, and i 2010 1500 Danes are called Henning Jensen, it is 42 less than in 2009. It is not a modern name.

  14. You should receive a Rotary award for your collage! (And upload the music, too.) My father-in-law is an enthusiastic Rotarian who visits Rotary meetings while traveling on business, I'll have to ask if he's been to Eagan. Looks like a lively group!

  15. You're very intuitive, Leif:)
Your stories make Eagan a dream appears.

  16. Food, food and more food. I knew it.

How do you stay so slim? I must admit you look rather handsome decked out in that neat tux. As does your beautiful wife. Not sure how you were able to finagle that!

I see that Allison was there in all her glory, too. She's one heck of a lot prettier than you!

One nice thing was that while you mentioned political types I didn't see any of the really dumb ones.

They were probably hiding in the closet.

    Cheers, ol' chap!

  20. Wonderful colors and organic natural forms. Reminds me of a painting like Rainy landscape, by Russian painter
    Kandinsky, http://EN.WahooArt.com/

, that I saw at wahooart.com, from where one can order a canvas print of it.
Really good place to browse the painter’s work and other work similar to your style of painting.
