Filling an important need

The Eagan Valley Dental Center provided free dental care on Friday, February 4 which was the annual, national "Give Kids a Smile Day" in the USA. Dentist Glenn Perkins and 10 of their other clinic staff donated their time and talents to help 30 low-income kids on that community service day.

Tami Phillipi's Fast Frame shop welcomed artist Shane Anderson for a commemorative poster signing. He held his featured St. Paul Winter Carnival acrylic painting commemorating the 125th anniversary of St. Paul's big, fun tradition.

The Eaganmobile

Brent Cory, the executive director of the Eagan convention & visitors bureau, and his fun office staff (Mike, Debbie, Denise & Roberta) posed with their office promotional car in front of the Eagan Community Center. Bright blue shirt clad Brent is also an Eagan Rotarian and Secretary or our club.

Snowy & lonely

Kids love to play on the playset at Walden Heights Park but with the frigid temperatures in January, kids were likely staying inside to read Harry Potter books or play computer games.

My boots almost sank below the fresh snow line as I hiked up the hill on Sunday afternoon. The small St. John's Cemetery founded in 1888 overlooking Difley Avenue stood quietly and peacefully.

A healthy bit of glass

As a Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Minnesota independent agent, I was able to get into one of several secured corporate offices for this photo, namely the River Park I building at 3400 Yankee Doodle Road. BC/BS is a major employer in Eagan and a health insurance giant in Minnesota.

A victim of Netflix?

First, they rented and sold videos. Then, they rented and sold DVDs. And now this Blockbuster Video store near Byerly's is going out of business.....

What gives? Five people were ahead of me in line at the Cliff Road post office and six people were behind me! It's January not pre-Christmas, people!

Byerly's bag boy

This snowman stands next to the grocery drive-up pick-up area at Bylerly's grocery store. The kids who load customer groceries into cars built this frosty helper!

A San Francisco treat!

We drank fresh Holy Cow coffee from San Francisco bought from that silly Louis la Vache! Umm, so good! Nothing says Good Morning at the Hagen Financial Network office like a good cup of java!

The Wescott Library welcomed its own coffee cafe' on Tuesday, January 18. Chris McLean (left) and Tyler Liedman own and operate Dakota County's first library coffee shop called Dewey's Cafe'. Stop by for a coffee drink and treat to enjoy with a book or magazine at our public library.

A red relic

Minnesota style shoes

Michael Proebstle, an Eagan Rotary buddy, and I hiked 2.5 miles around and over Jensen Lake on Saturday afternoon. It was quite cold but the sun shone and blue skies were overhead. Thanks for letting me borrow your snowshoes, Michael!

Saturday/Sunday SUPER sale

Steve, Greg and I volunteered to help our card playing buddy sell his house in Eagan. Hopefully, a buyer will quickly make a not-to-be-refused offer!

A cold start

My Swedish Hagen Wagon thermometer read minus 12 degrees Fahrenheit ( -24 Celsius) when I pulled up to my HFN office on Friday morning!

And the band played

The 5th Grade band played their concert on Thursday evening. Clarinets, flutes, French horns, percussion, saxophones, tubas, trombones and trumpets blended their notes in an impressive medley of music!
