Remembering....

 

After a short walk at nearby Fort Snelling National Cemetery, I found my maternal Uncle Linne' surrounded by American flags as we celebrate Memorial Day today. We honor and remember all veterans and their sacrifices. 

Rainy days...

 

It rained all day on Thursday..... good for the grass and flowers! 

Spring concert

The final concert was held in the Eastview High School gymnasium so singers and audience members could "socially distance." 

(Normally, concerts are held in their wonderful auditorium.)
 

Mike's sendoff

 

Many of the Eagan firefighters gathered around retiring Fire Chief Mike Scott at his party on Thursday afternoon. (His hand rests on the table.) Mike has served the City of Eagan for 35 years; Mike or someone from the Scott family has served on the fire department for the last 50 continuous years!

One month to go....

 

As a 2nd time Eagan Rotary club president, I only have 4 more meetings to lead before the end of the Rotary year on July 1. It's been a challenging year during Covid but also very rewarding and exciting!

This flowering vine, "Mandevilla," is my favorite balcony plant. It blooms from May into September!

Two new trees

 

The Eagan Rotary Club donated two new trees to the Woodhaven Park renovation. Six other Rotarians and I showed up to help plant.....well, mostly pose with shovels. (Thanks, Park and Rec guys!)

Cedarvale Bowling is serving up a few courts of beach volleyball on its parking lot! Beer and snacks to order!

Live music from the Eagan Rotary Bandshell provided fun vibes for the walkers at yesterday's Eagan Rotary Club's fundraiser, "Live to Give Walk!" The successful event raised proceeds for the Eagan YMCA, 360 Communities, The Open Door food shelf and the Eagan Rotary Foundation.

An 80s theme

 

Rotarians from the Eagan Rotary Club's fundraiser committee sported summer / 80s theme costumes.

I was sorry to be absent for the photo opp! 

Eagan Rotary Club's fundraiser, "Live to Give Walk," will happen on Saturday morning, May 15 at the Eagan Community Center. Proceeds will benefit local charities!

On Wednesday, the Eagan Rotary Club and the Eagan Kickstart Rotary Club recognized an outstanding teacher from each of the 15 local schools in their annual "Teachers Recognition" lunch meeting at the Lost Spur Golf Club.
