Already? My goodness, the mother bird and her brood worked fast!! The nest looks rather small for the size of that family, and indeed, mama is not a very good nest-keeper!

This is the best excuse for being late in taking down Christmas decorations.
Nice to have nature comes by your house. Good thing that no cats tried to attack them, or did you make sure that they were safe from cats?

Great! We have four baby robins in a nest at our house. They are getting big enough to leave the nest pretty soon. Fun watching the process, isn't it?
I guess you'll surely miss them. It feels so good to watch the egg laying process then the hatching and finally the growing up under their parents shadow. Little joys of life!

I always loved finding nests and eggs like those as a kid. So colourful - amazing how they're like the eggs we dye at Easter, but miniature and all natural!
I'm curious as to what the nest was made of. I had big nest collection when I taught third grade. I found them with Christmas curly ribbon cigarette filters as well as my dog's fur!

How come your Christmas wreath was still out there in spring? It seams like a very exposed place to have your nest. When we moved to Australia a couple of doves had made their nest near our kitchen window. We heard much noise for a few days then the parents left the nest and the babies never had a chance to grow up. We figured it was our interest in the nest that shooed the doves away. We had tried to be extra discreet though... I am amazed that you were able to come that close to the nest.... or did you use a long zoom?
