After visiting the
Stillwater Art Festival on Saturday afternoon, we walked along the flooded
St. Croix River. The
"Lift Bridge" connects Stillwater, Minnesota with the shores of Wisconsin. Do you see the
lamppost and
bench out in the water? Click

Oh, what a sight. At least the downtown streets were not flooded! Or, were they? Great photo for Bridges Sunday. By the way, what do you think about St. Olaf charging admission for the Christmas holiday concerts? Read that there's
divided opinion between students and alums.
That is a unique island of flowers in the middle of the river !

This is quite a sight! I bet there were a few frayed nerves in town!
Hiya Leif,
Don't know what catches the eye most: the complicated structure of the bridge, the island of flowers or the realization that the banks are under water.
Great composition, Leif! Not only the bridge is fantastic but also the little garden in the water looks lovely.
I agree with JM - both bridge and garden are stunners!
Greetings:)
Thanks Leif for a visual of the what has happened from the flooding in Minnesota and Wisconsin. This is a very sanguine view of the floods.
Leif, thou shalst build a big boat...
Flood can be dangerous, but this one is very photogenic! Nice bridge. Thank you for the birthday greetings!
An amazing bridge :)
Have a nice week!

«Louis» welcomes your soggy contribution to Sunday Bridges.
The water is all the way up to the bottom of the bridge! That is some flood!
That's an odd sight to see - the bench in the water! I do like the bridge and the I'm glad the flowers didn't get flooded!
Nice compositions. I like the industrial angularity of the bridge and the warm colors of the flower island. Lots of water!
HI Leaf, thanks for dropping by Anything Davao.. this one is awesome view... another great human marvel..
Whoa, that is serious flooding! The island of flowers look cute though.
LOVE (and miss) the autumn sky!
