Driving home from our daughter's dance class, I noticed this pile of split
wood and logs. I jumped out of my car and snapped a photo with my camera phone of the red
wood splitting machine and
wood pile in the
rain. I guess the
lumberjack was inside drinking coffee?

A wonderful picture. The inside of the trunk is so pretty, the firewood will be useful, and the red splitter would be fun to work with.
That is a curious scene. And, those are some large logs. There's a little shack in Sarasota where they cut and sell wood. I've been meaning to get a pic of it because it's such an unusual thing to see so far south in Florida. Now you've really motivated me!
Probably trying out his mother's dress.
LOL at Steffe!
You guys must be city people born and bred! Never seen a log splitter before? LOL....they got lots of them at Fleet Farm, Northern Power Supply, etc., etc...... Or....take a drive up north on the backroads and see one on pretty much every place. We, of course, were manly and split it by hand (works best in January at about 30 below....except for some willow we had to get rid of by the creek bottom once....now that's some tough stuff!
Jack's having a slumber...
Mir geht es ok, danke der Nachfrage. Ich warte immer noch auf dir Operation, double bypass, bin auf einer Warteliste.
interesting range of comments you got here ;)
have to admit, i am a city girl myself and have never ever seen anyone split a log.
That's a lot of wood!
It seem to be (too) hard work to cut all these big pices of wood by hand. That kind of wood-work would give heat twice.
Probably taking more carbo aside from the coffee :) afterall, it seems to be hard work seeing those big logs and cut into big pieces.
I always thought wood was cut with an axe...but that looks a little too big without a wood splitting machine ;D
I love the music, Leif.
Your photo reminds me of me bringing back home logs in the car (I mean on the seats). I dare not tell you what type of car it was but my husband got very angry :-))
Will they be good and dry by the time Winter comes in again? Do you do that too?
Hello from Toronto! I wish we could have visited Eagan and other U.S. cities, but we didn't have enough time to apply for a U.S. visa. Next time, hopefully.
I wish I had a fireplace.
Have a great Sunday!
Was it legal?

Great shot. We miss the fireplace we had in PA and, although the weather is much warmer in VA, it's still nice.
