Before the race, the Pizzazzjazz Band played; clowns entertained; people laughed and cried; a Color Guard presented the Colors and a short program was presented.
The race began after 12:00 PM and the top 2 runners both crossed the 5K finish line under 18 minutes! A great day was enjoyed by all!

Good! It is nice to see our oft-maligned military given support and thanks.
Very nice portrait and cool collage, Leif!

As an organizer of this event, I can truly say that I was abundantly blessed. The weather was great, and spirits were high.
We remembered the sacrifices of many, and honored our troops by having a wholesome good time in this free country they defend.
God Bless them all.
Why 5K? Don't you have "miles" ?
Looks like you guys were having a festival, too! Love your photo. I adore uniforms ;-D
It's a good way for all ages to become involved. Great that the day was weather perfect for the events.
What a peaceful entry of yours - knowing that it is the same planet, it felt a bit surreal.
Am very grateful for your advice to stay at home today !
Please have a wonderful Thursday you all.
