This old lift bridge reaches from one side of the St. Croix River to the other side in Stillwater, a town just a 25 minute drive northeast of Eagan. This photo shows the earlier Spring flooding and the sandbags lining the riverbanks. Five Eaganites enjoyed a family time visit to this historic town filled with antique stores and craft shops.

What's the story on its replacement; I've lost the thread of the disagreement.
Oh lovely colours here. La rivière Ste Croix ?
This may not be the prettiest of bridges, but it sure looks sophisticated. I like all the arches.
Love that structure! Wonderful bridge!
Léia :)
I don't think I've ever seen a bridge lift that way before! Lovely photo for sunday bridges ;-D
Lift bridge?, interesting.
Hope flooding wasn´t so bad.
Good one, Leif! The lift section reminds «Louis» of the High Street Bridge between Oakland and Alameda that Carolyn posted a few weeks back.
Nice. Reminds me of my big brothers' Erector Set when I was a kid.
Nice bridge. I hope the flooding is not a yearly event.
Interesting bridge.
i wonder about flooding, too. the bridge is a bit low.
great shot...have a wonderful monday to you!
That is quite a bridge. I wouldn't want to be in it in a thunderstorm!

I enjoy checking out your bridges.
The water doesn't look to be very deep.
Is one part of the bridge able to move, allowing ships to pass beneath? Indeed a nice bridge. Please have a wonderful start into the new week.
I could watch the activities around these bridges for hours. They are fascinating!
Neat shot of the bridge. We have a lift bridge over the Snohomish River. If I have to be stopped because the bridge is going up I want to be first in line so I can watch. Simple things for us simple folk. MB
oui, le pont est beau, mais l'inondation est impressionnante !
Merci pour votre visite sur mon blog.
What a wonderful bridge! Solche technischen Meisterwerke sieht man leider nicht mehr oft...
Love this iconic bridge, but Stillwater desperately needs a new river crossing. Unfortunately, there are those how impede safety and progress. Driving through the area is a nightmare.
