They are beautiful canines, a bit similar to the Huskies, and they are runners which is fine, as long as you have harnesses and sleds. Misha, our husky, was a holy terror, and we were lucky that we weren't sued by neighbors considering the damage he caused when he broke loose, which was often. Smart; he could even climb our backyard fence in order to jump over and then romp in St. Kate's campus with campus guards trailing him for capture...which never occurred. So...anyone out there...if you'd like to own one of these gorgerous canines, give me a holler so I can dissuade you with convincing evidence!

I saw these beautiful Alaskan Malamute dogs one early Autumn morning before a breakfast meeting. I ran down the street after them for this photo.

Malamutes are beautiful dogs. Our next door neighbours used to have a pair that howled whenever they heard a siren. I think they were singing.
