To answer your question on our VivalaVoyage travel photo site, I would recommend Marrakech over Fez if you could visit only one. The Medina and main square in Marrakech is larger and the evening activity in the square is amazing. The Majorelle gardens in Marrakech are also a delight. If time permits, I would certainly also recommend a visit to Fez.
