Guys and Dolls

A lucky runner

Eaganite Lance Kuehn ran the Boston Marathon last week in 3 hours and 16 minutes. He was eating a post race lunch with his family when the bombs detonated at the race finish line. This St. Olaf graduate who teaches sciences at Rosemount High School has run 10 full marathons, an Ironman and other races. He qualified for the Boston Marathon at the Twin Cities Marathon with a time under 3 hours and 5 minutes. He's hoping to run a future New York City Marathon.   (Race jacket logo below)

After last night's snow (AGAIN), it sure looks beautiful....but it's April 23! Yes, spring will come, yes, spring will come....

Helping others...

As part of the Eagan Community Center's 10th birthday celebration, community members donated toys and funds which were used to assemble "Cheerful Givers" birthday bags by volunteers on Sunday afternoon. Kids and adults filled 100 birthday gift bags to be distributed to the Eagan Resource Foodshelf Center and the Robert Lewis House. Then less fortunate parents can give their child a birthday gift.

My cousin, Sarah Johnson, married Kurt Liljequist on Saturday afternoon at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. The American Swedish Institute was a wonderful place for their wedding reception dinner!

Anne's parents and "Uncle Doug" joined us for "Hagen Hamballs," spinach salad, carrots, lingonberries, dinner rolls and almond cake with berries and whipped cream.
