The Dakota County Public Art Citizen Advisory Committee selected my (Eagan) "Firefighters" photo to display among their other "Human Faces of Dakota County" photographs.  These photos are displayed at the Dakota County Western Service Center building at 14955 Galaxie Road in neighboring Apple Valley.

Summer envy

We have all grown tired of the snowy winter in Eagan and long for summer. Oliver seems to be rushing it at Schultz Lake Beach in Lebanon Hills Park.

Over our long winter, the snow really piled up at the Cub Foods grocery store off Cliff Road. Any guesses when it will all be melted away?

Swarms of couples, future brides, mothers of brides and bride wannabes attended the annual Wedding Expo at the Eagan Community Center on Sunday afternoon. For just $2, information and contact hungry participants could meet many wedding experts: photographers, flower specialists, card designers, caterers, disc-jockeys, etc.

This beautiful, old barn stands next door to Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran Church. They have probably been good neighbors for a long time!  See other Barn Charm meme participants here.

Champion heart

Paige Martin, a local 5th grader, raises money annually to support the mission of the "Miracles of Mitch" foundation with pledges for her triathlon participation. Her run, swim, bike efforts amassed $2,050 in 2011 and last year she collected $2,800. In this summer's 2 races, she and her sister plan to skyrocket to $10,000 to help children fighting cancer! Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran Church stands tall near Lone Oak Road in northeast Eagan. In my opinion, it's the closed thing we have to a "cathedral" in our city!

Pottery relieving poverty

Hundreds of people gathered Thursday for the annual Eagan Resource Center foodshelf "Empty bowls" fundraiser at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. For $20, one could select a handmade bowl and enjoy soup served in it.

Birthday bag bash!

Cheerful kids from the Eagan Rotary Interact Club and Eagan Rotarians joined together at All Saints Lutheran Church to pack 200 birthday gift bags for donation to needy families through the Eagan Resource Center Foodshelf! More "Cheerful Givers" info here.

I looked back in my photo archive and found this August 2011 photo.  This "Pardon My French" cafe' scene will probably not happen in 2013 since they closed in late 2012.
