Mr. Yellow Shoes

Scott Needham, the owner of 2 Snap Fitness gyms in Eagan, 1 in Inver Grove Heights and another in Prior Lake, stopped running just long enough for a pose in front of this school sign. He's training for the Texas Ironman on May 19th! Go Scott go - good luck! If that's not enough, he also owns a window treatment company that sells and installs blinds, shades and shutters.

Isabelle returned to the Twin Cities for a quick, 2 weeks visit. She sped around town in a cute, red Fiat. She and her family lived in Minnesota for many years before moving back to Paris. We enjoyed a long lunch together at Pardon My French cafe'. Merci beaucoup mon amie!

Wednesday was "Office Professional's Day" so I gave Allison flowers and a card. Thanks for all your work at HFN, Allison! It's been almost 6 years working together.

"The Birthday Girl" turned 50 years old on Sunday and her office mates at Gorton Studios went all out with bright, silly, fun decorations!  Happy Birthday, Denise!

Pretty among pillars

Bekuh posed among the ceramic-clad concrete columns at the nearby, mysterious Production Line D of the Gopher Ordnance Works ruins at UMore Park in Rosemount. That site served as a World War II-era gunpowder production facility.

Tree Envy

The pink crab trees are bursting with pink and white colors all over Eagan this week. Our pink tree died and the landscapers replaced it with a white one by mistake... This tree stands in the Cliff Lake Shores neighborhood.

Future Rotarians

The first 6 of 30 members to arrive for the Induction Ceremony of the brand-new, co-ed Interact Club of Eagan posed with their T-shirts. Rotary District Governor Berg, Eagan Rotarians and other dignitaries came for the beginning of this new club at Eagan High School. Congratulations!

Noise reduction

For a hefty price tag, this neighborhood along the west side of Highway 35E near Diffley Road will soon have a cement and wood, noise barrier fence.

Marvelous music

Our middle daughter and other students in her 3rd grade recently gave a wonderful concert at their school. Bravo! Encore!

Stairway Glamour

Victoria Sins, Miss Minnesota 2011, grew up in the Twin Cities and now represents Miss Minnesota around the country. With a $1 million smile and a magnetic personality, she looked like a queen posing in the Eagan Station stairway!

HGTV star

Realtor Melanie Willy will appear with her real estate clients on the national Home & Garden TV show, "House Hunters," on Wednesday, April 11 at 9 pm. They were filmed looking at three homes out in Plymouth and Minnetonka, western suburbs of the Twin Cities.

5 granddaughters

My twin brother and his family invited us and our parents to their house for Easter lunch. We enjoyed good food and family fellowship.

Easter Vigil

We gathered outside Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for the Saturday evening worship at 7:30 pm. The service continued inside in darkness until later the lights brightened and the Easter flowers emerged!

Walking with the Cross

Over 300 people from over 10 congregations gathered on Good Friday morning for the 21st annual "Crosswalk." The walking procession stopped at 9 places along a 3 mile square. At each break, cross carriers switched, a Bible reading was read and a song sung until 2 hours later we reached the walk's end. There the Cross was erected on the Crossways Church campus.

I spotted the Easter Bunny while shopping for flowers at Cub Foods on Cliff Road. Surprised to see one there!

Rahn Athletic Fields on Nicols Road offer four baseball diamonds. With the start of baseball season just around the corner, Roman was swinging his bat in preparation.

March madness

Reverend Steve Haschig grew up in Boston, married a New Jersey girl and they ended up in Minnesota. He served as a Lutheran parish pastor for 27 years and now works as director of development for Darts. Their three kids and 6 grandkids live nearby. I wonder if Steve has any speeding tickets with his red, SAAB 9-3 convertible? Maybe he can outrun the cops? He transferred from another local Rotary club to the Eagan Rotary Club recently.
