At yesterday's Eagan Rotary Club lunch meeting, two World War II veterans were recognized for their service. They were surrounded by fellow veterans from the Rosemount VFW Chapter 9433 including the two WWII award recipients from last year's annual recognition.
Chuck Hedges, wearing a vest and no cap, served as a ship engineer on the USS Tennessee during the fierce "Battle of Leyte Gulf" during his service in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946. Will Hageman, next to Chuck, served as an Army Air Cadets bombardier in WWII from 1943 to 1945 and in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Will flew 12 tours in the B-24 plane.
Congratulations to Chuck and Will for their recognition awards and thank you to them and the others for their service to their country!
