Family memories

We drove out to the Stillwater Tree Farm to cut down our own Christmas tree. Many people bring home a Christmas tree right after Thanksgiving. It was a great way to celebrate the first Sunday in Advent.

What a sweet picture of Americana. I can almost smell the tree.
Enjoy it!

Fun family memories of cutting down your special Christmas tree. For the last 13 years, we resorted to a plastic tree. Our dog Winston loved to strip the needles off the lower branches where he could reach. Then he would drink the tree water dry. Despite the aftermath, he had pine scented breath. ;)

I don't think we will put up a tree this year. I have our lights ready for Hannukkah though!

Jeg synes dere er så flinke til å skape slike hyggelige førjuls tradisjoner!
Kos dere alle sammen!
Kjekt at dere likte norsk film!!:)
Her er også KALDT, men ikke snø i Stavanger by, kun oppe i fjellene.

In the Netherlands I wait for Sinterklaas to be over (december 5) and the next day i go out to buy me a tree (if i want to cut one myself, the petrol would cost me another tree)

That's a very nice American tradition!
I'm jealous of the snow and the tree!

Nice tradition respected :-)) I would like to do that with Capucine (my granddaughter, by the way :-))

Looks like a fun time! However, because "I've been there, done that" countless times, I now keep a decorated tabletop tree in the attic and haul it out for the holidays! Grandkids still think it's great. Typing with two hands now. Yippee!Getting a new Mac soon and as soon as I can operate my camera I'll be back in business!

Honestly, when our kids were young and we were buying shoes in lots of 5, (we had 5 kids) I sometimes went out along roads and cut down a wild cedar tree for our holiday.
