Easter's labyrinth

Along Thomas Lake behind Easter Lutheran Church on Pilot Knob Road, one will find this labyrinth built out of stones. This intricate maze of lines is meant to be used for meditation. More information here.

A wonderful view of the maze and the lake beyond -- appears a perfect site for a meditative walk.
Here in Fabius our mazes (each at a retreat center)are cut out of the fields of grass and thus a changing view every season.

Just a rough one out in the open, great! This gives me the idea to make one here. We certainly have enough rocks, but maybe not enough flat surface.
I've walked labyrinths in Arkansas, but never in Israel. They are hard to find here.
Thanks for the reminder and idea, Leif!

You've captured the essence of it.

I LOVE labyrinths! St. Kate's used to have one by the nuns' residence, but it wasn't well-maintained. Now that construction for the Presbyterian is taking place, it's all but disappeared. Wish the one in your photo was close by!

What a joy it must be to apply every single sense one owns, while walking these ways. Please have you all a great new week.

I've always loved these life-size mazes. Probably that's because they're so novel, such a rarity.

Sorry--been absent a bit--pre-wedding business!

I like these meditation labyrinths....would like to walk there.

I know there's one in a Jesuit retreat house here, but have never tried it myself. But the lake area itself looks like a great place for meditation or contemplation.
