On my way home from work, I spotted utility guys working with somethingnew to me, a "Ditch Witch." They have been burying special piping in the ground.
So that explains the new digging in your back yard, much to the consternation of your bride. It also explains the Home Depot delivery to your home late that afternoon. Just HAD to have a new boy toy, didn't you?!
;-D
(You'd think something was wrong with «Louis» if he weren't giving you a bad time about something...)
I thought very seriously about renting one of those to lay electrical wiring from our house in St. Louis to the detached garage (more like a glorified shed) 90' back from the house. I never did, but I still might someday.
I found your comment on Phivos blog and enjoyed your bio, as I also love to travel Are you Danish? I was born in Soborg, outside Copenhagen, and now live in California.
Reminds me of the earth-moving contractors I once worked with - she was a small tough lady and her husband used to keep a bottle of hooch handy and run into things (like walls) occasionally with his 'steamroller.'
To answer your question about the Summer Stock Sunday badge, you're very welcome to use it to show your participation in our weekly Summer Stock photo-project. That's what it's for :). Just post your summer-themed photo (with or without the badge) and link to me here, then sign the linkie so that the other participants can find you too. The more the merrier.

Oi. I've never seen a Ditch Witch either.
Don't like the sound of its name.
Heavy machinery!

Ah, machinery.
I have a few photos of a ditch witch on my blog. From when they were digging for a new water pipe line.
Well I have never seen one of these before! I need to keep my eyes peeled to see one in action. :)
Never seen anything alike before. One hopes that its magic is of a good content. Please have a nice start into the new week.

That's some pretty specialized machinery.
