Run for Blood 5K

On Saturday morning, August 8, my identical twin brother, Luther, organized and sponsored his company's 1st annual "Run for Blood 5K" event at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. Hagen Financial Advantage, Inc gave the net proceeds to the Red Cross. On your mark, get set, go!!

The overall 5K winner was quick man #193 with an approximate time of 15.24 minutes. A recent Luther College grad! Go Norsemen!

The quickest woman runner, athlete #205, crossed the finish line at 18.32 minutes.

Next year's 2nd annual "Run for Blood 5K" is scheduled for Saturday, August 7. Our guest room is available for an CDP blogger visiting from abroad to run! Valkommen!

Salute to your brother for organozing this, and to the participants too.

It's a great event. The participants get a healthy chance at showing their fitness level; and the proceeds benefit even more people.

Salute!

Fantastic photos for a fantastic day! Suggestion: put your invitation for next year in the "News" section of the blog site so that more bloggers will see it! Only people abroad, huh? Why Leif, that's discriminatory! Perhaps we could have a "Bloggers' Blood's Convention" in Minnesota?!

Did you get new glasses and not tell me? And how handsome you look in a baseball cap! Did you have your singlet on under your t-shirt?? Way to cheer on the runners, Safe Leif! Oh, that's not you??? Boy, you and Big Lu really ARE identical!

If only I could run more than one minute, I'd run to take you up on that room offer. LOL
Nice pictures of the event.
Thanks for your encouragement to join CDP. I was really surprised and happy to be accepted today!

I think this looks like a nice event...and the winning time was quite good, too. And the gift by that financial services company was a fine gesture.

I also think that it was good you had the race in August. September snows will soon be there!

It's hard to fathom there are two of you too; seems two is too many! ;-)

a very energizing event to capture. i saw that you went on the Rotary GSE trip. I was fortunate to be selected as a Rotary team member 20 years ago and had a great time on the trip. Excellent experience. I also see that you love the travel bug too. We just started our travel site at www.vivalavoyage.com and we post photos every Sunday. We just posted the India photos so you can see you might enjoy them since your profile says you went to India also. Such a great place to photograph.

Nice captures, somewhere on this world some people are really sporty! I always decide to join in such an event, but then when I need to train, I skip it in the end..

Cheers from Marcel

Running for blood. That's a good idea. Nice cause. I started jogging this week after some years. The best therapy for stress. Giving away your energy for a good cause must be wonderful.
