This over 80 year old woman was elated to receive the "best vintage costume from the the 1940's worn by its original owner" award! The St. Paul skyline was the background.
Tuesday, August 4, we met some Eagan friends in downtown St. Paul at the History Museum for its weekly music night. Throngs of people danced to the live jazz music with a heavenly view of the nearby St. Paul Cathedral!
super, il n'y a pas d'age pour danser et faire les fous ;o)). J'aime beaucoup le "best vintage costume" great, there is not of age to dance and make the madmen ;o)). I like very much " best vintage costume"
You really managed to get the feeling of FUN in your photos! :-) The Lady in pink looks very pretty, but I have to admit that the black dress on the other photo also looks very elegant! My great grandfather lived in Minnesota twice, for some years when work was difficult over here..... His wife and kids never went, but I guess for me it was always Minnesota.... when my grandmother talked about America. ;-)
That's a real nice photo. She looks like she's having a ball.
What caight my eye though was the gloves - I can hear the words now, "A lady never goes anywhwere without wearing gloves" And if it was what we call a stinking hot day, it was "Ladies always wear gloves. You must wear one, but you may carry the other in your gloved hand."

Holy cow! You Minnesotans do know how to have fun!
That top shot of the lady in the vintage dress is fantastic and so natural. Just love her expression.
very nice! she seems to be very comfortable in high heels!
I love that pink dress and it's amazing that she can still wear it!
Looks like it was a really fun event!

The ladies have amazing outfits!
She may be 80, but she's still pretty in pink!
This is wonderful. You Americans have a talent for being really alive all your life. Here we're old so early.
I laughed out loud when I read your comment on my blog.
Leif
I would invite you to come visit Lebanon! I love your pictures!
This looks great, I would like to be there!
What a great idea for an award! And as you can see, I understood your message well enough to be able to look you up...
Oh and..."Met verschuldigde hoogachting" may look nice in Dutch but is really a hidden insult...
Have a nice weekend!
Kudos to her for having kept the dress all these years and the figure that went with it!
Eighty and still laughing - you gotta love that doll, Leif.
p.s. I realise 'doll' is not very PC, but it seems appropriate in the context.
I love the lady in pink, she looks nice and happy.

So brave of her, to wear the same costume, and also to fit in it!!
Dear Leif,
What is this ceremony for? Is that a formal holiday or just a cancert? BTW, Very nice photo!
Super! Super! Super! I love the first picture best. This young lady looks awesome in her costume. The idea for such an award is brilliant, too!
I love the 1st photo! What a fantastic contest and what a cool winner! All the ladies look great too!
Thank you for your congratulations!
Everyone looks to be dressed for success!
I Love Jazz!!!Love the pink chiffon of course. I'm sure she's one of those women who'd rather be "looked over" than "over looked."
how cool! I love the lady's pink vintage dress! wonder how long it was sitting in her wardrobe for?

Thankfully times have changed.
Hats off to that lady who can still fit into that amazingly beautiful dress after some 50 odd years! And she looked wonderful!
What a great shot -- the look on "Pinky's" face is truly worth a thousand words. 80 in age, but 18 at heart. This one is an award winner!
