"Light of All Creation"...

..."Scatter the Darkness" - that was the overall theme for the 98th annual St. Olaf Christmas Festival. Our middle daughter and I drove on Friday night 40 minutes down to St. Olaf College in Northfield, my alma mater, for the delicious Scandinavian smorgasbord and internationally renowned Christmas service of worship in music. Five choirs and an orchestra filled the Skoglund Center with wonderful, traditional and a few contemporary songs. "Beautiful Savior" arranged by F. Melius Christiansen closed out the program.

I'm sure it wasn't broadcast yet; if my memory serves me correctly, it's on NPR on Christmas eve when we watch it after we return from the Children's Pagaent at Unity Church on Grotto St. St. Olaf's music is stellar and how wonderful that you can share this with your daughter. Great shot!

Nice shot, Safe Leif. I'm sure it was a delightful event. I'm surprised, though, that St. Olaf let you in! Heh. Heh.

And I'm also surprised that after the smorgasbord you stayed awake to watch and listen!

Have a great day.

Du er sannelig med på mye kultur begivenheter. Saa flott at du tar datteren din med! det må ha vært helt spesielt å høre sang og musikk i en så stor sal. Ha en fin førjulstid!

«Louis» would have liked to have been there! That Christiansen arrangement of "Beautiful Savior" is world-famous.

«Louis» et Mme la Vache attended a San Francisco Bach Choir concert yesterday, Much of the music was the same as that found on a CD published some 10 - 15 years ago, a Praetorius Lutheran Christmas Mass.
