Summer means road construction in Minnesota. Eagan has seen lots of trucks, heavy equipment and road construction workers showing up lately....

Walgreens Pharmacy is really keeping up with the times! Now they'll even text message you when your prescription medications are ready which you can then fetch at the drive-thru pick-up!

Eagan dog series #22

Michael and Cathy Proebstle, their son, Robbie, and their friend, Beth, posed with Lucy the 100% Shetland Sheepdog at Market Fest. They also reminded all dog owners to pick up the "do-do" after their dogs!

Old Ph ne

I just noticed this old ph ne at our local gas station. It's such a relic now but I did actually see a guy using it one time as I filled up our car with gas.

Great food & outdoor seating!

Doolittles Woodfire Grill is one of Eagan's most popular restaurants. The parking lot is always full. Cozy indoor decor, delicious food, "happy hour" for drinks and a beautifully landscaped yard around the outdoor seating make it a success!

Mooooove over Swiss Cheese

I spotted this Dutch cheese cow at our local Byerly's grocery store. Probably one of Louis la Vache's friends? I was just glad that no store manager came running over to say, "I understand you've been taking photos in our store."

Mr Green's house

Walking through the Toll Brother's "Steeplechase" neighborhood, I passed this green house. It looks funny with the green insulation paper on the outside before the siding and brickwork are added.

The UPS delivery guy

Al Bundie, also the name of an American movie star, delivers our UPS packages. He always has a smile which several of the office building ladies have noticed.

The Lebanon Hills Visitor Center is an environmental education center located at Schulz Lake.

Barn in the city

This red barn likely belonged to a large farm in Eagan until much of the land was developed into residential neighborhoods. I spotted this beauty along Dodd Road with a few horses corralled behind it.

Eagan Rotarian series #17

Brock Stimson played the "strong safety" position for the University of Wisconsin Stout football team for 5 years before graduating in 2008. Now Brock's goals have shifted to scoring points as an account manager for the sales department of Aerotek, an employment recruitment company. He also joined the Eagan Rotary Club in May as its youngest member.

Flowers can be arranged!

This friendly chap was selling $5 fresh flower bouquets at Market Fest. I bought my wife a bouquet for $4, the "rainy day price."

Easter's labyrinth

Along Thomas Lake behind Easter Lutheran Church on Pilot Knob Road, one will find this labyrinth built out of stones. This intricate maze of lines is meant to be used for meditation. More information here.

This dead tree rests up against a living tree along the narrow road which leads to Schulz Lake in Lebanon Hills Park.

Eagan Dog series #21

I met Steve Mardell and his pure bred Bernese Mountain Dog, Charlie (also known as "Downtown Charlie Brown.") At 125 pounds, that 2 year old dog with Swiss alpine origins really made an entrance as they strolled up the path.

"7 Cats" after the rain

The "7 Cats" jazz band entertained a small crowd of hearty, brave people who came out for the Wednesday evening Market Fest in spite of the rain! Saxophone and trumpet players, keyboardists, a drummer and a vocalist jammed from the Eagan Rotary bandshell stage. Bravo! Encore!

From the 1930s

David drives a 1937 Chevrolet cabrolet with a rumble seat. As the 5th owner, he's added 22,000 miles to its speedometer. It gets 20 miles to the gallon on the highway!

Top 15 - Congratulations, Eagan!

Eagan has again scored highly among best small cities in America in which to live based on Money Magazine's list! Other Minnesota suburbs in the top 15 are: Eden Prairie, Plymouth and Woodbury!
