Their small hands

Together they make a beautiful photo, the fingers and hands of our 11, 8, and 5 year old daughters. It reminds me of the Bible verse:
Luke 18:16 But Jesus called for them and said, "Let the small children come unto me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs." See Katie Lloyd's other meme participants here.

A pizza dinner at the Green Mill Restaurant made for a fun Friday evening. Back home, we ate birthday cake and played ping-pong and air hockey!

end of winter?

Tuesday's 8 am view over Thomas Lake park will likely look much different after this week. It's warming up and the snow is melting quickly!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Driving by the O'Reilly Auto Parts store on Cliff Road on Wednesday night, I remembered that Thursday is the lucky day of the Irish! It's also our oldest daughter's birthday.... but we didn't name her Patricia.

Eagan's other media mogul

Jennifer Pfeffer launched the Eagan Patch online news publication on November 12, 2010, the second Minnesota city of the current 19 cities all of less than 70,000 inhabitants with this growing news source. Friendly, energetic, social networking and media savvy Editor Jennifer coordinates the 10 freelance reporters, 5 daily news updates, etc. She's especially proud of their "little stories" often missed by the big metro newspapers. Check out this latest online news option originated in New Jersey and already found in over 800 cities across the USA. Eagan.Patch.com

Built in 1902

In my humble opinion, I think this beautiful church is the closest we have to a "cathedral" in Eagan. Click here to see the interior of Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran Church.

Rest in peace

Eagan was founded in 1860 and Trinity Lone Oak Cemetery has existed since 1880. It was a quiet, grey, snowy walk through their cemetery.

Ford #10

Driving along Lone Oak Road, I spotted this old Ford pickup truck sitting next to a rundown house waiting for spring. Why number 10?

Still snowed in

Driving around the industrial northeastern part of Eagan in February, I found this cargo train hugged by snowbanks.

That ol' red barn

This barn and its original, green farm house sit next door to Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran Church. I'll get the farm house in a photo next time. Find Tricia's "Barn Charm" meme here.

For serious snowblowing....

The city equipment is BIG - no messing around with blowing snow out of the way!

This snow-blowing monster was rolling down Cliff Road; this winter saw record setting levels of snow and that snow keeps comin'....

Sweet & spicy

Our friends, Sudharshan and his wife Manpreet, invited us over for Sunday afternoon tea time complete with mildly spicy Indian treats and a delicious fruit decorated cake. We always enjoy visiting them and catching up. They are both originally from Delhi, India.

Roy's toy

Roy pulled up in his SMART car which he's driven for two years. The car gets 37 - 42 miles per gallon and cost just $14,000 with leather seats and other extras included. It seems like a SMART car to have!

When my wife asked if I wanted to cook Saturday night's dinner.....
We drove up to Granite City Restaurant and I did the "cooking" there.... A micro beer, chicken, broccoli and wild rice medley!

"Iphigenie en Tauride" by Gluck

New York City's Metropolitan Opera came to Eagan's Regal 16 movie theater (one of over 1,500 movie theaters in over 46 countries) on Saturday afternoon through an HD Live broadcast, the 7th of 12 season performances. Opera stars Susan Graham, Placido Domingo and Paul Groves starred in Gluck's nuanced and elegant interpretation of this primal Greek myth.
Bravo! Encore!
