Nothin' but a hound dog...

Elvis & his son performed at MarketFest on Wednesday evening! It appeared to be one of the biggest crowds of the summer! These two dudes hail from the north metro area. Rock on!

Summer dancin' to blues

Some Eagan friends met us at the Minnesota History Museum overlooking downtown St. Paul for a weekly summer music series across from the St. Paul Cathedral. A band performed live blues music for people dancing on a perfect Tuesday evening! Ahh!

Leif of Eagan met Jorgen of Roskilde

At the end of our family vacation in Scandinavia, we spent 24 hours in Roskilde, Denmark. Of course, I wanted to meet Jorgen Carlsen, the Roskilde Daily Photo blogger. Jorgen came over to Kristen's garden home to meet. Kristen and I took French classes together 22 years ago at St. Olaf College. It was a great time together!

Eagan CDP met Stavanger CDP in Oslo

During my family's one month vacation in Norway and Sweden, I had the opportunity to meet Gunn of Stavanger Daily Photo. She and her British husband, Steve, met me and my family in Oslo in July. We enjoyed Sunday morning coffee and treats together and then attended a worship service at the Oslo Cathedral. Afterwards, we rode the subway out to Vigeland Park to see and photograph the many wonderful statues. A wonderful time was had by all!

Welcome to Eagan!

Several of our Eagan Rotary Club members welcomed Robson from Brazil on Sunday afternoon at the Minneapolis/St. Paul international airport. Robson, holding a flower bouquet, will study at Eagan High School as a Rotary exchange student this year.

Tiger stripped pots

Flower pots at Gertens garden center in Inver Grove Heights, our neighboring suburb to the east.

Got milk?

I've been wanting to photograph a KEMPS milk truck so when it was parked at our gas station, I whipped out my "Lingonberry" camera phone and captured it! "It's the Cows" that make a difference in the yummy taste of their milk!

Eagan CDP meets Drammen CDP

Rune, former blogger of the Drammen Daily Photo blog, and I met for an afternoon of photos in July. The top photo was clicked standing before the "Stortinget" (possibly translated as "The big thing") or Parliament Building in downtown Oslo. Then we walked down Karl Johan Gate to the Norwegian Royal Palace. It's a small world after all!

Hello from Orchidville

Usually, a couple orchids adorn my office, Hagen Financial Network. Clients admire the orchids and so do we. That's why we call our office, "Orchidville."

Ice Cream anyone?

Here's the menu as seen at the drive-up at our closest Dairy Queen. Nothing like a quick evening ice cream treat!

Disk it up!

Earlier this Spring, it was funny to see a 24 acre parcel of farmland surrounded in a commercial and residential area of central Eagan. For just US$5 million, "Gonyea Land Company" will sell it to you. Otherwise, a farmer will keep planting corn. Disk up the land and plant some crops!

Bus ride or cup of java?

Whether you need a bus ride into downtown Minneapolis or downtown St. Paul, you'll catch the right bus at the Eagan transit station located in the heart of our city.

Otherwise, stop here for a haircut, Chinese food or a cup of Starbucks coffee!

The "Peanut" Car Wash

Peanut the Parrot steals the show at "Paradise" car wash. Our girls always refer to that place as the "Peanut car wash." If you need your car vacuumed out and washed, then drive over to Paradise!

Foreigner!

At first, I thought a "foreigner" from Wisconsin had crossed over our Minnesota border. Then I realized it was just a Minnesotan who likes the Green Bay Packers football team.

Ship it!

I ran into Mark the mailman recently in the Eagan post office on Cliff Road. Anything unusual about Mark?

Not so GREEN

This big, red HUMMER vehicle isn't very eco-friendly. That's just an observation, not necessarily a judgement.

Water lilies at Jensen Lake

They sure make a wonderful impression! We rarely see pink water lilies, mostly white ones.

Pepperoni Pizza

Visit Carbone's on Yankee Doodle Road for some yummy pizza. A large pepperoni is just $10.49. Add some pop and friends for a fun time in a local hot spot!

How much is a large pizza in your city?

Twin brothers

These identical street sweeping brothers stood parked off Cliff Road waiting to clean up the resurfaced street. Which one is older? By how many minutes? Being 9 minutes older than my identical twin brother, I always ask those twin questions! See their cousin, click here.

BRIGHT Orange!

Jim drives a BRIGHT orange, 1929 Ford delivery sedan. The original list price was probably $500. Only 7,000 of this model car were produced annually during 1928 - 1958.

August 1st is the City Daily Photo blog community's theme day. The theme is "bright colors."
