MAKING EVERY BIRTHDAY COUNT ON NATIONAL MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY

150 volunteers of all ages and walks of life joined together on National Make A Difference Day, Saturday, October 26, to do their part in changing the world by helping to assemble 3,000 toy-filled birthday gift bags for less fortunate children in Minnesota.  Cheerful Givers partnered with the Kids ‘n Kinship mentoring program for the event, which was held at the Thomson Reuters headquarters in Eagan.

Lakeville, Minnesota Mayor, Matt Little said "All kids should have a special time on their birthday and a feeling of being loved and being special. And on this day in Minnesota, we are helping to make that happen."  Former Minnesota Viking and Hall of Famer, Matt Blair, noted "The thing I liked best about today was seeing the kids here - kids volunteering to help others."  Madonna Backstrom of the Eagan Minnesota Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Organization commented "It is great to see kids getting involved and learning the value of volunteering at a young age.  Katherine Johnson, reporter for KSTP Television News summarized the day by saying "It is great to see Minnesotans Make A Difference."

Filling the senses...

Meeting a friend for lunch at Persis Biryani Indian Grill in Town Centre, my ears were filled with Indian music, my nose with yummy smells and my palate with über-flavorful, scrumptious assorted dishes. Just 30 minutes after my photo, the place swelled with hungry patrons and others waiting outside.
