Flickering candles

When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in a park.  -  Ralph Marston

So peaceful. It is the candle time of year. Let there be light!

Happy New Year. Here's to another great year of photoblogging.

These are really beautiful, Leif, and so is the thought.
Tonight at sundown work will cease and I will light my two Sabbath candles and think of your post.

It brings me back to 2002-3 when I worked as a volunteer at a monastery in Switzerland. The young novice in charge of the few vols asked us, "Don't your friends think you're crazy spending months 'doing nothing'?"
