Phil and Adam smiled from their ice-fishing tent on Holland Lake in Lebanon Hills Park on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Both Wisconsin natives, Phil lives in Eagan but still wears a Packer hat. His buddy was visiting from Milwaukee.
They look happy...good for them, but I could never understand the appeal of ice fishing. Glad I am in Charleston, SC right now where it is currently 45 degrees at 7 am. Whoo Hah!
I do see a lot of ice fishing in Haninge. Mostly at one of the lakes at the nature reserve Rudan, but also out on the bay at Horsfjärden. The only difference is that the tough Vikings never use a tent!
Thanks for your sassy, funny, clever, serious or encouraging comment! Tack sa mycket, merci beaucoup, vielen Dank, domo arigato, grazie mille, tusen takk, ansante sana, terima kasih, obrigado, Dank U wel, kiitos paljon!
I was bit by a foreign travel bug after my sophomore year in high school. I haven't found a cure for it, nor do I plan to. I visited India for 5 weeks in early 2009 and Europe in July 2009. My family and I spent 1 month in Sweden, Norway and Denmark in July 2010. In January 2012, I went to the foothills of the Himalayan mountains and a wedding in Jaipur, India. Then in May 2012, I returned to Japan and Bangkok, Thailand. My family and I spent 3 weeks in Paris, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany in August 2012.

ReplyDeleteI don't get it either, but if I ever did ice fishing, I would want to stay warm inside a hut.
ReplyDeleteIce fishing? I think it should be re-named ice beer drinking.
