St. Olaf in Eagan

Located 30 minutes south of Eagan in Northfield, St. Olaf College founded its St. Olaf Choir back in 1912. The 100th offering of the St. Olaf Christmas Festival was simulcast on Sunday afternoon at nearly 400 theaters in 45 states while thousands attended the festival on campus. Eagan's Regal 16 Theater welcomed a few hundred Lutherans and others, several wearing Norwegian sweaters. The 2 hour Christmas Festival performed by 5 choirs and full orchestra ended traditionally with "Beautiful Savior."

My brother went to Carleton College in Northfield, best known for its two colleges and for being the site of Jesse James's most northerly bank robbery.

Must be quite a concert to attract so many theater goers.

St. Olaf's has good reason to be proud of its music program. No doubt this was a fine concert. «Louis» would have greatly enjoyed this.

I will forever remember Betty White as Rose Nylund in the Golden Girls...her character was from St. Olaf... And Betty White is still going strong at 90.

Ah, a delightful annual event; we usually watch it on television in our own cozy little home!

This makes me think of Betty White and the Golden Girls too!

Yep St Olafs = Rose Nylund. Must be a spectacular choir for that much attention.

Sounds like something from Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegon- How delightful!
