Freshly cut...

Our family drove out to Stillwater, a city 35 minutes from Eagan, to cut down a fresh Christmas tree. Eating popcorn and drinking hot apple cider inside the tree payment office afterwards adds to the annual tradition.

The best kind of tree! I just put up our wee tabletop tree, and despite its size, it's the most charming tree we've ever had (we feel this way every year)! Memories that you and your family are building are part of our family lore, but now I feel..."been there, done that" and I am content with our shrinking holiday tree! Have fun decorating it!!

Your kids will have so many great memories, where will they store them all?

Your children know where Christmas trees come from.

We gave away our artificial tree and our decorations years ago because we usually travel over the holidays. This year we will be home, so on impulse I bought a rosemary plant, shaped like a Christmas tree, yesterday at Safeway. Julie hung a few ornaments on it. We are having some friends over on New Year's Eve to cook a gourmet meal together, and I think we will use part of the tree in the meal.
