Our memorial garden

July's City Daily Photo blog theme day is "GREEN!" We built a small garden up against our neighbors' fence in our backyard in memory of three special people who recently died. Jeff, 56, was our kind neighbor across the street; Rhonda, 51, was a cheerful friend at church; and Tetsuo, 95, was my gracious homestay host and English student in Gero, Japan back in 1990. We remember them today and into the future!

That's a lovely thing to do Leif, so sad and so young for two of your friends. I feel that garden will grow well on all that love.

Very moving remembrance. Not what I expected when I first saw your thumbnail.

It's a wonderful little memorial garden built with love and respect. Such kindness from you and your family. I also like the curved border... really adds a nice touch!
BTW, I'm green with envy. I would do anything to have a yard the size of your neighbor's and yours too probably. Just imagine the garden I can have!

Bonne journee et bonne fete du Canada!

What a fabulous idea! Never heard or saw a similar memorial for friends. You have been blessed with solid friendships and respect and honour your friendships.

En France, l'expression "toujours vert" se dit d'une personne âgée qui a gardé une très bonne santé.
Donc.
In France, the term "toujours vert (ever green)" means a senior who has kept a very good health.
So.

I agree, that's a lovely tribute.
It's sad to hear that two of your friends were relatively young.

Happy 4th to you, Leif!
