sunny Saturday's skate skiing

The outdoor thermometer read 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-15 Celsius) on Saturday afternoon at Lebanon Hills Park. But the sun was shining for skate skiers who glided around the snowy, groomed 2.5 mile trail.

A great, healthy activity. We certainly do have the geography for it!

Looks fun. Still very cold there I see. My 'weather station' tells me it's 11 degrees here today 52F in old money! Positively a heatwave!

Well, if it is going to snow, you might as well make the most of it.

I love cold days like this. It was 7 degrees when I went on my snow hike last weekend. Great shot!

Yes, I too wish we could swap a location just little while by snapping the finger. Please send us your cool air.

That looks like fun. I used to do cross-country skiing.

They called this freestyle cross country skiing in Davos. They had tracks for both this and the classic style. I wanted to try, but wasn't sure which style would be better. Have you done both? ANy advice! The skating style looks especially fun.

Sieht lustig aus...im Wald mit Ski laufen...und die ganzen Bäume stehen im Weg.Muss man ganz schön aufpassen sonst endet es im hospital.

Skate skiing? Is that what they used to call cross country skiing?
I tried it first (and last) time a few years ago in the Swiss Jura. Fun as long as the ground is level.
