"Comfort food"

For a light Saturday night dinner, we ate oatmeal waffles topped with peanut butter and real maple syrup and clementines.
Try our healthy recipe:
1.5 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup oatmeal
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs slightly beaten
1.5 cups milk
6 Tablespoons butter, melted
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
In large mixing bowl, stir together first 5 ingredients. In small bowl, stir together other 4 ingredients. Add small bowl mixed contents to large bowl ingredients, stir until blended.
Bake in waffle iron. Top with fruit & maple syrup. Enjoy!

Sounds good. I forwarded it to my son in LA. He is the chief waffle maker there.

Thanks for posting the recipe! You know I would have asked for it...Will definitely try it; just have to get a waffle iron first. By the way, I like how you always have candles with your place setting. Very warm and cozy!

Thanks Leif for a reminder of a family tradition as I was growing up: waffles for Saturday night supper. And waffles were the first thing I learned to make as a child.

Yummy! Are you sure peanut butter is super healthy though? I love it but woe!
Does fake maple syrup exist?

Leif, Du bist wirklich und wahrhaftig ein Feinschmecker. Essen scheint bei Dir eine große Rolle zu spielen. Jetzt muss ich doch mal Fotos aus meinen Lieblingscafés posten... Lass Dich überraschen!

"Springlike" greetings from Stuttgart.

I see that you have a tooth for food :} We only had a drink, I don't know why they placed a buddha there, it's not an asian restaurant...
