Heavenly food

The June 1 theme day for the City Daily Photo blog community is "funny signs."

Here in Minnesota and especially Eagan, the Lutherans love to have potluck dinners. Everyone brings a "dish to pass" - usually all the dishes are put on long buffet tables. Families with last names starting A - F bring hotdishes, families G - N bring salads, families O - R bring vegetables and families S - Z bring desserts!
Bon appetit!

It sounds like a funny and interesting idea.

How come these church signs always end up sounding so dirty? :-D

There must have been a large crowd that evening.

At first, I thought the D was another O, making the text read Hotoish, and I though "my what exotic things this Allison gal brings to church dinners".

I was about to google Hotoish to see what exactly that would be, but then I read your explanation which cleared it up nicely.

How cute! We like to have potluck dinners at our church too on the second Sunday of the month.

And all good Lutherans have their pantry stocked with Jell-O in the colors of the liturgical seasons! «Louis» knows dat rumor is true cuz he's a Lutheran himself!

Gotta love a church with a marquee announcing that someone's hotdish is divine! Good find.

What a surprise to see something alike possible in a church - guess it would be unthinkable over here, which is rather sad.
Please have you all a nice Wednesday.

OK Leif, I'm counting on you to find Allison and get me her recipe! It must be divine if they posted her name on the sign!

Allison's a hot dish? Did I read the sign right?

;)

It sounds very interesting and very friendly.

Ha! Good one.

Allison made famous?

At least you aren't getting into the collection plate like Louis!

This sounds like a great idea. Do they switch around the names so that Allison is not always bringing a hot dish?

I've never heard of such a thing before and I can't imagine a sigh like this here! :-)

... sign, not 'sigh'! Sorry...
