Once upon a time, there was a tree...

Kay Brown Gustafson, a local author in Eagan, was signing her book at the Holz Farm Spring Festival. The true story tells how the big oak tree was moved to its current spot in front of the Eagan Community Center. That oak tree is the symbol of Eagan and stands tall as the header photo of my blog.

There isn't a better way to get kids interested in books and writing than to meet a real-live author!

What a great way to help kids understand a little bit of local history.

«Louis», being une vache, was slow to pick up on the connection between the tree in your masthead photo and the tree in the city logo. This is a text book example of why in France, to call someone une vache, is to imply that they are slow-witted...

Moving a tree. Sounds like hard work. Probably a bit easier writing a book about it.

I'd love to read the book. I also have written and had published three children's books and I really like to do readings/autographs. I enjoy seeing how my books make kids (and their parents) happy.
