Green with envy

When I spotted this VW wagon in April, I quick snapped a photo with my Lingonberry phone camera.

What would it have been like to drive it around California in the 1960s or 1970s with long hair, a funky shirt, sandals and a peace necklace around my neck? Hmm

I've got the Beetles covered, now you have the vans!

My babysitter when I was a kid had one of these. She got in an accident and was parlyzed from the waist down. But she was still a cool lady!

I don't know, I was born in 1970. But I think it must be amazing in the 2010s too (?). Your pictured VW Bus is a real gem. Very nice shot, Leif.

90% of the world's remaining VW vans from this era, running or not, have migrated to The People's Republic of Berserkeley...somehow they missed this one!

Slik har jeg hatt for mange år siden, ikke noe varm vinterbil, men en morsom bil å dra på tur med, når det er sommer :)

When I first met my husband, this was the van he was driving. No long hair though, and I was the one in sandals, funky shirt and the peace necklace. ;)

About two decades since last I enjoyed driving inside, meeting my first girl friend and kiss. Thank you a million for the memories. Please have a nice Friday.

I never had much love for this kind van, but this a great survivor!

I am a flower child, but never had a minivan. I am considering crossing the US one summer in something like this though....and wearing my love beads, too.

I had one. Louvered windows. Peace train. Birkenstocks, frisbees, other acoutrements;-). Remember singing Cecilia in my VW van with friends, bean bag chairs in the convertible back. No seat belts then. In three days with several drivers and being able to sleep we could cover lots of territory. Being almost blown off the road by big trucks or strong winds.
Ahh the good old days....
