Interviewing a new Lieutenant

On Tuesday, April 6, Eagan's recently retired police Lieutenant, an Eagan cop, a State Patrol trooper and I interviewed three candidates for the Lieutenant position at the Eagan police station.

After the interview, Police Chief Jim McDonald gave me a tour of the police station and jail.

Interesting, your police hiring process. Never thought about that.
Were you allowed to photograph the jail?
Just yesterday I took pictures inside the Central Prison Jerusalem, which is now the "Museum of the Underground Prisoners during the British Mandate Period ." The tour made me very sad.

I've said it before and I'm SURE I'll say it again, "You're not BIG, you're SUPER BIG!!!"

Well, this explains a lot about why «Louis» saw your photograph at the Post Office yesterday. Go ahead and tell your audience the truth: the tour you got was to the room where the orange jumpsuits are issued and you were in cuffs....something about what you said to the cop that pulled you over on suspicion of DUI. When he commented that your eyes looked a little bloodshot and asked how much you had had to drink, you shouldn't have retorted that his "eyes look a little glazed" and asked how many trips he had made through the drive-through at the Krispy Kreme so far this shift...

I'm glad you were in there just for an interview and a tour!

What are the criterias for chosing a new local policeman?

You caught some nice reflections there!

A jail tour? That's so strange!

Me wonders why you were involved in the interview...were you a cop in another lifetime or just have a propensity for crime? ;-)

Re your comment on The Villages: You're a very simple man, Safe Leif!

I'm surprised that McDonald did not keep you!

Ps. I've been travelling back to Mn. the past few days without ready access to the internet; therefore I haven't been commenting very much. I'm still posting from Santa fe since I scheduled it before we left. Hope to be back soon!

I am an Eagan police explorer and I heard the interviews went really well. I can't wait to find out who the new Lt. will be. I hope you enjoyed your tour.

You must be an important person in Eagan to get such a chance (and others). You are BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST, indeed. Hats off, Leif!
