Svenska semlor

Our Minneapolis friends, Henrik & Charlotte, invited us over for Swedish "semlor" and coffee. Freshly baked buns filled with almond paste, lots of real whipped cream and dusted with powered sugar, a heavenly treat enjoyed during Lent in Sweden! Our daughters had fun playing with their kids, Nils-Emil & Ebba. Tack for fika!

All smiles here, which is understandable. They sure are tasty. I have probably eaten too many Semlor already this year. To see how a Semla pro looks in action, press here!

I thought Lent was a time of giving up the good stuff. This looks like fun!

You never stop with the food, do you? But you must not eat much of it or you'd be 300 pounds.

Are you 300 pounds?

Lots of whipped cream, huh?
Well, the least payment is due on the cariologist's BMW, so you might as well help him out a little!
